The wonderful folks over at Boohoo.com and I got together and thought it would be fun to do a post featuring their Metallic skirt! This skirt is something really out of comfort zone but I fell in love with it nether the less! I thought if I can find a way to wear this then YOU definitely can! So I set myself a wee challenge I thought you might enjoy: How many ways can I style the Boohoo Metallic skirt!?
Metallics are definitely back in! I’ve noticed a few fashion bloggers pulling them out and pretty much every online store seems to stock Metallic in all styles and colours!! I specially loved the Boohoo skirt because as you all know I like a good deal and boohoo.co.nz definitely comes through on the deal front! This metallic skirt only sets you back a mere $30! Love it! (Plus their postage is FREE to New Zealand and SUPER FAST! Triple thumbs up from me!)
I decided to go with silver as I’ll admit I was a little intimidated by the pure shine of it! Plus silver being a more neutral colour definitely goes with more in my newly colourful closet!
So lets start with:

With the Metallic silver being pretty eye catching on its own I thought it would be nice to pair it with some whites and pastels to help give it a more softer girly day time look! This look also gave me a good opportunity to pull out all my colourful girly items! Pairing the skirt with some patterned tights is also a good alternative if you aren’t so keen on flashing your pins! (I would keep the pattern relativitly simple, something like a sheer stocking with spots would look fab!)
You can create this look with similar pieces from Boohoo.com!

As we all know, I’m a huge fan of my Black on Black with studs here, there and everywhere! I didn’t faulter when it came to this look! I decided to keep the colour palette nice and simple but incorporate some accessories! Que the Studded leather jacket, Spiked headband, Studded belt and chains! I kept all the jewellery silver to tie in with the metallic skirt and kept the shoes nice and simple! The skirt really is a statement on it’s own so even if you’re trying something a wee bit more out there remember to not over do it!
You guys again can create a similar look with some stuff from Boohoo.co.nz!

Mixing a texture and a pattern come sometimes lead to a bit of a mess so I decided again to keep this look rather simple and let the skirt and pattern take center stage! I chose a pattern that used those lighter pastel colours, this helped tone down the metallic skirt and give a fresher lighter feel!
You can create a similar look with these items from boohoo.co.nz!

The Spots, The Bowtie, The Bowler hat, The Glitter and The Boohoo.co.nz Metallic Skirt! I’m absolutly loving this look! Once more a nice simple colour pallet, a pop of colour, a little bit more shine and a hat dresses the Bohoo.com Metallic skirt up perfectly but still keeps it looking fresh and day wearable!
Spots are one of those patterns I don’t think will ever go out of fashion and strangely seem to go with EVERYTHING!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
I took a wee break from blogging over the Christmas holidays so many many apologies for the lack of updates! I wont be making any “I’ll blog more” new years resolutions because lets be honest… I never stick by them, like most people!
But I will make more of an effort to make my posts more less sporadic!
I thought I would ring in my first outfit post of 2013 with a nice colourful summer look!

Summer so far in Christchurch, New Zealand has been humid, very humid so I’ve been ditching the black for lighter more colourful pieces and also going makeup-less.. makeup-less has meant I’ve been taking advantage of these rather larges glasses of mine and all my hats!
What has been your season staple?
Lots of new things this week so I thought I would slam them all into one nice wee outfit post!
As you can see NEW HAIR! A nice drastic change from long red to short plum! I was getting a bit tired of the long hair and wanted something easy for summer!
Also a lovely new shirt from Boy London (c/o ASOS!) and some sweet new Harem pants from Romwe! I went on a wee online shopping splurge (retail therapy, everyone needs it!) the other week.. these are only half the items I bought! Still waiting patiently on the rest! So hopefully lots more interesting outfit posts to come!

This weekend I went on a wee adventure to my local opshop on the hunt for a grey pencil skirt for an up coming themed work Christmas party! I found the perfect skirt and whilst browsing I stumbled across this dress! For a mere $7, I couldn’t leave it behind! I’m not sure if it is the type of dress I can get away with but the colour is astounding and the style is beautiful! I love it so much I HAD to share it with you all!
I’m always looking for an excuse to wear these heels so along with some victory rolls and some patterned tights I thought they gave the perfect vintage victorian type feel it deserves!(Of course I had to have something spotted on!)
