HYPE THIS LOOK ON LOOKBOOK!

This weekend I went on a wee adventure to my local opshop on the hunt for a grey pencil skirt for an up coming themed work Christmas party! I found the perfect skirt and whilst browsing I stumbled across this dress! For a mere $7, I couldn’t leave it behind! I’m not sure if it is the type of dress I can get away with but the colour is astounding and the style is beautiful! I love it so much I HAD to share it with you all!
I’m always looking for an excuse to wear these heels so along with some victory rolls and some patterned tights I thought they gave the perfect vintage victorian type feel it deserves!(Of course I had to have something spotted on!)

Dress: Thrifted
Stockings: Glassons
Shoes: Overland

Something not so fashion related: I finally picked up a slide film I had developed (Opps, forgot I have taken it in!). I snapped these shots over a year and a half ago when I returned from my short stunt living in Australia (I’d call it more of an extended holiday haha). Unfortunately not many of the shots turned out but I did manage to get these 3 which I really like so I thought I would share them with you!

I’ve been on a mission as most of you know to wear colour and lots of it, to resist all temptation to wear my safety colour.. BLACK! But today I gave in, after a week of succeding, I felt it was fair to give myself a day of all black!

This thursday just gone I was part of a fun wee fashion show that drew a bigger than expected crowd! A local salon that my friend and flatmate works at put together this fun wee show collaborating with Where the fox lives (A local boutique store that stocks pieces from up and coming young designers and the likes of. Where the fox lives is soon be opening in a new site at The Tannery in Christchurch!) and Brooke Tyson!

Hair was done by the crew at Felix Culpa and makeup was by Brae Toia.

I managed to snap some ‘backstage’ photos so thought I would share them until I can get my hands on photos from the night! ENJOY!

A Peak Into…

The marvelous little hermit hole I hide away in far too often!
Growing up my family tended to move around a lot thanks to my dad being the savvy Air Force man he was and I have somehow developed my own tendency to move a lot thanks to him! Over time I realized moving boxes and boxes of junk gets rather boring and tedious very fast! So over recent years I’ve developed a love hate relationship with junk! I love cute little bits and pieces (specially vintage photo frames and cameras) but dear me do I hate lugging it around. I thought for something different it would be fun to give you a wee photo tour of my room and of some of this junk!

If you are an avid reader you’ll remember the DIY post I did on this bunting! I live in a modern apartment so the walls are ever so plain! So I thought a bunting would be a fun wee touch to brighten the dull walls! I also am not a lamp fan so decided Fairy lights it was! Plus how dreamy do they make rooms look!

My bedside cabinet rarely looks this neat and tidy (but of course I Tidied it for you!). It tends to be a black hole for my bobby pins, jewellery, sketchbooks and whatever nonsense I’m reading! I also keep photos of my puppy back home and the bff close by! And of course a money box to remind me every morning I SHOULD BE SAVING (of course it doesn’t work very well haha).
The shelves below house my camera, artwork, dvd and book collections!

Next to my bedside cabinet is my favourite little corner housing all the bits and pieces I can’t fit anywhere else but want to see daily! Frankie magazine, Artwork, Photos and Polaroids of family, friends and my hometown! Along with my every growing perfume collection! Unfortunately this corner also becomes the home for my hair and makeup products on week days when I’m a morning zombie!

AH The Glorious closet! This has to be the most organized mess anyone will ever see. Too many clothes, shoes and accessories leave it looking like a bomb site (Of course I tidied it for photos haha) 24/7.
I like to organize my clothes by item style! Coats, Jackets, Blazers,Sweaters,T Shirts,Button ups,Dresses, Aline Skirts, Maxi/Midi Skirts and pants! My shoes of course are organized by favouritism and the Accessories just squeeze wherever they will fit!

The rest of my room really isn’t photoworthy, blank walls, camera tripods and all my craft/blogging gear! It’s a nice small comfy space that makes me not want to leave the house.. a lot!

I would LOVE to see some snaps of your rooms! LEAVE A PHOTO REPLY! OR Post me a link! What’s in my room posts are nearly as fun as what’s in your bag posts!
