So.. Lets be frank! I have never been a very good blogger, you know with all this inconsistancy and what not… BUT.. Ok lets not lie, I don’t think I’ll ever be consistant, it just isn’t.. ME!
However I think I’ve discovered what has been holding me back when it comes to posting outfit photos! The belief that in order to post worthy and interesting photos I need to snap that typical street style photo! Well.. HELL NO is what I say to that from now on! It really isn’t my style and I think I’m pretty bad at it in all honesty! I’m going to leave the streetstyle photos to the pros and focus on photographing my style in a way that really represents MY style!
OH! And on the Style note; This blog is, never was and never will be a ‘Fashion’ blog. After reflecting on my blogging self lately I’ve come face to face with the reality that I’m no ‘Fashion blogger’.. I’m a style blogger! (with a little bit of ‘lifestyle’ blogging chucked in for the giggles!)
After truely settling into Sydney I have also found I have settled into my style (or my style for now! Because I’m too eclectic and addicited to change to really find a permanant style!). As my instagram followers and friends know, I’m a very VERY big fan of Korean style and Fashion! (Amoungst my eclectic music loves, Kpop does hold a very high spot on my favourites lists too). I think since moving here that influence has started to show through a wee bit more heavily than it did in New Zealand. I’ve been embracing colour, patterns and accessories a lot more and LOVING IT!
One day I’ll be brave enough to try pull off clashing patterns! But for now I give you a fun wee outfit I like to wear.. A LOT! (see instagram posts for proof haha)
If you don’t follow me on instagram.. You should! Lets be friends!
@carlanapier <—- DO IT!
If you are an avid instagram follower or have liked Carla Napier | New Zealand Fashion Blog on Facebook you will be well aware of my recent adventures and would have seen some of my snapshots, IF NOT then I’ve finally managed to have some stressless free time to adventure with some friends and discover some of the many things that have left me madly in love with Sydney, Australia.. MY NEW HOME!

The whole decision of sqeezing my life into a 23kg suitcase and moving myself across the Pacific Ocean (again) was a rather rash one! I decided I was ready for a new adventure. So I quit my job, headed off to my hometown for a week of rest and relaxation before jumping on a jetplane and landing myself in Sydney! I’d never been here before but everyone said it was amazing so I thought.. Hell, why not, life is short and BAM here I am! A mere three weeks on and I’ve secured myself a fulltime job, met some amazing new friends and eaten A LOT of yummy food!
Unfortunately the rush and stress of the past three weeks has left the blog on the backburner! But I can only neglect it for so long until I start missing it (and feeling slightly guilty!). So here I am with a short wee post with some photos from recent explorations with friends and some snapshots of delicious food!

One of the amazing views from the hills around my hometown (Nelson, New Zealand). Nelson never ceases to amaze me!

I also spent a weekend before jetting off visiting family in the glorious Golden Bay (Tasman, New Zealand). Never have I send sand so blindingly gold! If you ever get the chance I thoroughly suggest visiting the Tasman area in New Zealand. You will be blown away by its beauty!
Then there was SYDNEY!!

I managed to convince my friend Claudia and my sister to snap some outfit photos for me too!

Coming from the (in my opinion) forever cold Christchurch,New Zealand I struggled with Sydneys heat for the first few days/weeks but now I adore it! No coats need! No tights! No scarfs! AHHH Forever summer! (here is hoping I don’t climatize anytime soon!)

One of the most amazing things about Sydney HAS to be the absolutely astounding and delicious food! So I thought what better way to end this post but with some snapshots of some yummy snacks!

HUNGRY?
Posts may be limited for the next few weeks as my Internet Connection is limited! I hope to be updating you with some exciting new photos and outfits soon! Thank you for reading!
The wonderful folks over at Boohoo.com and I got together and thought it would be fun to do a post featuring their Metallic skirt! This skirt is something really out of comfort zone but I fell in love with it nether the less! I thought if I can find a way to wear this then YOU definitely can! So I set myself a wee challenge I thought you might enjoy: How many ways can I style the Boohoo Metallic skirt!?
Metallics are definitely back in! I’ve noticed a few fashion bloggers pulling them out and pretty much every online store seems to stock Metallic in all styles and colours!! I specially loved the Boohoo skirt because as you all know I like a good deal and boohoo.co.nz definitely comes through on the deal front! This metallic skirt only sets you back a mere $30! Love it! (Plus their postage is FREE to New Zealand and SUPER FAST! Triple thumbs up from me!)
I decided to go with silver as I’ll admit I was a little intimidated by the pure shine of it! Plus silver being a more neutral colour definitely goes with more in my newly colourful closet!
So lets start with:

HYPE THIS LOOK ON LOOBOOK.NU
With the Metallic silver being pretty eye catching on its own I thought it would be nice to pair it with some whites and pastels to help give it a more softer girly day time look! This look also gave me a good opportunity to pull out all my colourful girly items! Pairing the skirt with some patterned tights is also a good alternative if you aren’t so keen on flashing your pins! (I would keep the pattern relativitly simple, something like a sheer stocking with spots would look fab!)
You can create this look with similar pieces from Boohoo.com!

Next I wanted to try something a lil bit more casual and a look I could carry through to a night out if need be!
This is what I came up with

As we all know, I’m a huge fan of my Black on Black with studs here, there and everywhere! I didn’t faulter when it came to this look! I decided to keep the colour palette nice and simple but incorporate some accessories! Que the Studded leather jacket, Spiked headband, Studded belt and chains! I kept all the jewellery silver to tie in with the metallic skirt and kept the shoes nice and simple! The skirt really is a statement on it’s own so even if you’re trying something a wee bit more out there remember to not over do it!
You guys again can create a similar look with some stuff from Boohoo.co.nz!

Next is a look that is pretty out of the box for me but I seem to have fallen in love with
Floral!
Boohoo.co.nz stock a huge range of
floral at the moment (
along with most mall stores and other online stores) so I thought I’d give floral and metallic a go together and suprisingly
I LOVED IT!

Mixing a texture and a pattern come sometimes lead to a bit of a mess so I decided again to keep this look rather simple and let the skirt and pattern take center stage! I chose a pattern that used those lighter pastel colours, this helped tone down the metallic skirt and give a fresher lighter feel!
You can create a similar look with these items from boohoo.co.nz!

NOW This look is something a little bit more old school Carla! Spots, bow ties and glitter! Staples of my closet so how could I not create a look using the
Boohoo.co.nz Metallic
skirt and all of these!

The Spots, The Bowtie, The Bowler hat, The Glitter and The Boohoo.co.nz Metallic Skirt! I’m absolutly loving this look! Once more a nice simple colour pallet, a pop of colour, a little bit more shine and a hat dresses the Bohoo.com Metallic skirt up perfectly but still keeps it looking fresh and day wearable!
Spots are one of those patterns I don’t think will ever go out of fashion and strangely seem to go with EVERYTHING!
Create a look similar to this using items from Boohoo.co.nz!

So Four outfits later and I think I’ve successful achieved my challenge! Four completly different looks using the fantasic Boohoo.co.nz Metallic Skirt!I would love to see what type of looks you guys are creating using Metallics? What’s your favourite way to wear them?

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
I took a wee break from blogging over the Christmas holidays so many many apologies for the lack of updates! I wont be making any “I’ll blog more” new years resolutions because lets be honest… I never stick by them, like most people!
But I will make more of an effort to make my posts more less sporadic!
I thought I would ring in my first outfit post of 2013 with a nice colourful summer look!
Hat: Supre
Dress: Valleygirl
Blazer: Forever New
Shoes: Melissa
Bag: China
Glasses: 80’s Purple
Summer so far in Christchurch, New Zealand has been humid, very humid so I’ve been ditching the black for lighter more colourful pieces and also going makeup-less.. makeup-less has meant I’ve been taking advantage of these rather larges glasses of mine and all my hats!
What has been your season staple?

Lots of new things this week so I thought I would slam them all into one nice wee outfit post!
As you can see NEW HAIR! A nice drastic change from long red to short plum! I was getting a bit tired of the long hair and wanted something easy for summer!
Also a lovely new shirt from Boy London (c/o ASOS!) and some sweet new Harem pants from Romwe! I went on a wee online shopping splurge (retail therapy, everyone needs it!) the other week.. these are only half the items I bought! Still waiting patiently on the rest! So hopefully lots more interesting outfit posts to come!
